This Month’s Groove – 2014

I’ve been gone a while but I’ve curated more music to share with you during my down time.

This month’s groove is from Satin Jackets, featuring KLP.

Satin Jackets is the brainchild of German music producer Tim B. who teamed up with his friend Den Ishu as lead performer. Recent successes like “You Make Me Feel Good”, collaborations with highly demanded vocalists as well as top-ranked remixing work turned the project into a very recognizable brand name for lush Indie Dance tunes with a pop appeal and a four-to-the-floor groove. Having toured three continents with over twenty gigs in the past year, Satin Jackets has claimed their place as protagonists in the scene with the recently created live show. The continuing work with Eskimo Recordings, The House Of Disco and their own Glam Jam Artists will ensure Satin Jackets keeps playing a vital role at places favoring momentum between 105 and 115 beats per minute.

Kristy Lee Peters’ turn under the KLP moniker is just one EP old (her Revolution EP was released through DCUP’s label Chookie back in May) the Sydney DJ, producer and vocalist has been a steady presence on the local scene for plenty of time now.  2013 has seen her collaborate with the likes of Taku, Dcup, Germany’s Satin Jackets (on Eskimo Recordings), Crayon (on Yuksek’s Partyfine) and What So Not on their beast ‘Jaguar’ (through Sweat It Out and OWSLA).

Never one to stand still, KLP was named one of the 10 Local Producers to Watch by inthemix in 2014, selected to play the EMC Spotlight, crowned Triple J Unearthed Field Day winner and on top of all that, is a facilitator with the Heaps Decent project.

Her latest solo offering DECIDE, is a super-hooky, multi-vocal layered and bass driven jam, showing us a new side to KLP’s ever growing repertoire, proving again why she is one of Australia’s most exciting new industry talents.

The joint effort of Satin Jackets featuring KLP is a hot dance groove with the sultry vocals of KLP on an Extended Play album called “For Days.”  The EP includes the title track with an an istrumental cut of “For Days” and a bonus track “Night Keys” which rounds out this excellent EP.

This Month’s Groove: “For Days” by Satin Jackets feat. KLP is available on iTunes and wherever you purchase your music.  I have it on repeat.  You’re gonna dig this.
